Big Gold Dream is the everyday story of how a group of disaffected youth in search of the only fun in town went on to change the world. Just a few days before underground music documentary Big Gold Dream airs on BBC Two, creator Grant McPhee shares what inspired him to start and (finally) finish this decade-long project. Thank you Vinyl Revolution

I love Scottish Pop. If Spearmint hadn't already written a song about it (it's on their 2001 LP A Different Lifetime) I would have. But it's fair to say that Scotland's role in the development of punk and indie bands has been largely swept under the carpet over the years. Big Gold Dream...

by Marc Hogan

Scotland was late to receive the punk gospel, but once it got hold, England’s northern neighbor clung tightly to the do-it-yourself mindset. Independent labels such as Edinburgh’s Fast Product...

Vice Magazine spoke to us for an article on Tartan Features TF6 'Big Gold Dream'.

Grant McPhee is the man behind 'The Sound of Young Scotland,' a film exploring Scotland's music scene in the 1970s.

By the late 1970s, punk was already showing signs of stagnating. Supposedly radical teens were spending increasingly more time moussing their mohawks and searching for that perfect safety pin for their leather jackets; the Sex Pistols...
